‘Use Question/Discussion above to send encouragement & message to Amy’
[UPDATED by AMY] ‘IN NEED here is the situation and please share if you can. Rent was caught up but we owe starting in june. Moving isn’t an option for many reasons, personal, financial and schooling. I have applied for disability sadly it wasn’t an easy choice. All my doctors have written letters I can’t work at this time due to my back (which is a permanent injury that has worsened by shifting position and arthritis up my spine, knees (which have significant cartilage damage and pad a knee replacement is needed in my right knee but they are trying to put off due to my age, PTSD causing concentration issues and memory loss, migraines and falling due to my loss of balance an MRI is scheduled for that this week. Right now I am awaiting disabilities (God willing) approval. We were left with nothing by the toddlers dad who is now been sentenced to 3 years in prison for his multiple duis and violating domestic violence probation (I didn’t plan to share that but need to). My landlord allowed me and others to catch up rent he was court ordered to pay but refused back in nov to pay so now June has to be on time and we need help until disability is approved. A charity link is in the works but you can also PM me for my address and make a check payable to Mike Green my landlord. I am doing all I can on my end to make this terrible situation better or improve it but right now as humiliating as it is I (we) need help. Thank you.’
Send Love & Encouragement to Amy
Amy Kukec is a Domestic Violence Survivor and mother of three. (pictures and details on her three minor children will be not shared per her request) As recently featured on CNN Money, even after escaping from physical Domestic Violence, she still suffers from the financial abuse her now ex-husband inflicted upon her that went on for years. Most of us understand how credit works and what happens when we don’t pay our credit cards and continuously overdraw from our bank account. What we don’t often realize is that many Domestic Violence victims are suffering from similar financial/credit trouble. And unfortunately these troubles are caused by their abuser, many times without them even knowing.
Amy currently has many unpaid bills, legal fees, past due utilities, and preschool dues for her kids and is worried about being evicted. Any help received here will go toward helping her to pay these necessities and help bring financial stability back into her and her children’s lives.
Even after her story has featured on CNN, Amy’s struggle continues… Let’s send her a Gift and show her she’s not alone.
‘I never pictured my life at 41 to be destroyed by domestic violence and financial abuse. Not being able to support your children is the hardest obstacle I’ve ever faced. My kids saw me go from financially independent to unable to buy anything. To not have a bank for going on almost 11 months after a lifelong career in banking has taken away a piece of who I was. Getting your life back is emotional, physical and financial and it’s something I would not wish on any family. It’s should not be allowed to happen. I hope one day to change that for others.’
